(Lightning Ridge is on the right, 1 mile down Flaherty)--------------------------585 443 4363--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lightning Ridge Park (LRP) is a 35 acre Christmas tree farm that has a 80 mile view through the Southern Tier of NY and is at the southern end of the finger lakes. LRP was formed with a promise to the people that was made at jungle rd party in 1995, 3 days after Jerry's death. The promise was that we wouldn't stop until we had a place of our own to express our freedoms and artistic abilities. We traveled for many years trying to find a home that would allow us the freedom that we needed to do our festivals our own way......we hit: RK Place (2 times), Sterling stage (3 times),Long Meadows Park ( 1 time),The AMP (1 time),Snow ridge (1 time)and finally got LRF. It was a long ,strange trip but we have enjoyed most of the ride and now are rebuilding our show to reflect the love we have for the culture and the music. There are 2 stages, a round house for bonefires, 100s of campsites, organic sweat lodge, 13 roads to venture, trails. We boost ourselves as the worlds only place to provide natural organic tripping (STUMPS watch out>>>LOL). There is a definite family vibe on the Ridge, where kids are welcome and folks watch out for eachother, making this one of the safest places you will ever visit for a festival. Jerry watches over us and is proud to say he taught his children well! Please Join us this year for one of our shows. Let your hair down and put on your dancing shoes, bring that drum, plain and simlple just come.

little party that started out in 2000, that has gained ground and reputation to become one of the best summer parties here on the east coast. The party has changed venues a few times over the years. The Backwoods Boogie was our most recent event 4 days of music, food, camping, and great times. Backwoods Boogie in our 9th year of events brought in nearly 500 people, and was one of the most epic times of my life. This is our 10th Anniversary bash, and the event will be held at the old HIPPIE HOUSE/ the address is provided. This is an ultra heady event with staff up the yin yang to help out. 21+ is a must NO EXCEPTIONS. Also there will be a check in gate with your names on a list. IF YOU WANT TO BRING SOMEONE MAKE SURE YOU LET ME KNOW SO I CAN PUT THEM ON THE LIST OR IT COULD BE A SHIT SHOW FOR YOUR GUEST TRYING TO GET IN. You all must have ID for the check in.
The ticket price will be set respectivly at $40, to cover the over $5000 in expenses plus all of the sweat equity involved in the set up and organization. Thanks for your understanding.

What is Midsummer? The Shenandoah Midsummer Festival is a full weekend of Earth-Centered spirituality and fun held in beautiful Middletown, Virginia at The Battle of Cedar Creek Campground. The focus of the event is to strengthen ties in the Earth-based and metaphysical spiritual community and to raise awareness of these wonderfully diverse belief systems. Toward that end, the Shenandoah Midsummer Festival includes a variety of workshops, presentations, and religious ceremonies that showcase different aspects of the various spiritual paths that fall under the umbrella term of "Paganism," all in an open, accepting, family-friendly environment. Additionally, the festival includes a wide variety of spiritually oriented vendors, as well as nightly musical performances by both local and national musical talent. Our retreat attracts people from all backgrounds, orientations and walks of life. The only thing we ask is that you have an open mind and be nonjudgmental. Neopagans celebrate the Summer Solstice, or Litha, as the most bountiful day of the year--the day the sun shines the longest. Midsummer celebrations are common the world over, especially in Northern Europe, and feature many of the activities our own Midsummer celebration includes--bonfires, feasting, singing and dancing. At its heart, Midsummer is a celebration of light and life, an opportunity to give thanks for the bounty of summer. |
